What's new

Updated

  1. Decided: one overview for the family, privacy where it matters

    • What you connect, bank accounts first, is shared with your household by default. Everyone sees the same overview and the same figures.
    • You can keep a single account private. Then only you see it.
    • Only the person who connected an account manages it. They can allow the other adults to do so too.
    • Health payments, such as the pharmacy or the doctor, stay private to the person until they choose to share them. LifeCorner asks once. The amounts still count in the household's totals.
    • This is decided, not built yet. Bank accounts come next.
  2. A contact form, ready for the website's launch

    • The contact form is built and works. Once the website is live, you can write to us from its own page.
    • Your message goes to us by email and is not stored on the website. There are no cookies, no third parties and no puzzle to solve. It also works without JavaScript.
    • Decided: to stop spam, the website briefly counts how often a message is sent. That counter is deleted within minutes.
    • We answer you personally by email.
  3. The app is live, for our family

    • LifeCorner now runs for real. For now it is a closed beta, and our own family uses it first.
    • Today you can sign in, set up a household and invite your partner. The daily screen "Today" is still empty. Contracts and bank accounts come next.
    • Signing up needs an invitation. Without one, the app tells you that registration isn't possible yet.
  4. The app on small screens

    • The app now fits small phones and large text sizes too. No more sideways scrolling, and the bottom bar no longer covers anything.
  5. Sign-in on small screens

    • The sign-in pages now fit small phones and large text sizes too.
  6. Your household and Today

    • Your household, sign-in with a passkey, and the daily screen "Today". First for our own family.
    • Decided: for now LifeCorner is a closed beta. You can only sign up with an invitation.
  7. Only tested updates go live

    • Decided: every update is tested before it goes live, and a person approves each one. No AI can put an update live on its own.
  8. Sign-in and access

    • Decided: you sign up with your Google account or your email address, then set up a passkey. From then on your face or fingerprint signs you in. The passkey also confirms every new device and every change of who has access. No codes by SMS.
    • Decided: if you set up a new passkey through your email address, for example because you lost your phone, it can sign out the lost phone at once. For 72 hours it can't change anything else about who has access. Your other devices are told and can answer "That wasn't me".
    • Decided: only people decide who gets into your household. Inviting someone, removing a member or giving an AI assistant access works only in the app, confirmed with a passkey. No AI can do it, not even for itself.
    • Decided: every sign-in and every change of access is recorded in your household's log, and members will be able to see it. Entries are deleted after 24 months, some of them sooner.
    • Decided: our emails come from our own address, never contain a link that signs you in and carry no tracking.
    • Decided: the app runs code only from our own address, and your browser blocks code from anywhere else. A firewall filters unwanted traffic before it reaches the app.
    • Decided: we build and test with invented data only. Real data exists only in the live app, and for now that is our own family's.
    • Roadmap: the next step is sign-in with a passkey and a household you share.
  9. Health information stays private

    • Decided: health information gets extra protection. A payment at the pharmacy, a doctor's bill or a letter from your health insurer is recognized as it arrives and reduced to what is needed: date, amount, due date and the kind of provider. Only the person it concerns sees it, and diagnoses or medicines are only noted if that person says yes.
    • Decided: if fitness apps or smartwatches are connected one day, then only with your consent for each one and only as daily totals, never detailed recordings.
    • Roadmap clarified: documents, forwarded by email or scanned with your phone, come together with contracts and bank accounts, not later.
    • Decided: your data is stored in data centers in Frankfurt, and households are kept apart not only in the app but in the database itself, checked by automated tests.
    • Decided: every insight comes with an explanation of why it is there. Asking LifeCorner in your own words comes later, together with the daily family briefing.
    • Decided: we name a service you can connect only once its connection is built and tested. Until then we show the kinds of sources, such as bank accounts, documents or calendars, and whether they come first or later.
    • Decided: letters that wait in a provider's online portal still find their way in. Many insurers and some phone and internet providers only email a notice; LifeCorner turns it into a short to-do that opens the provider's own website, never the link in the email. You sign in yourself, download the letter and share it – about half a minute. LifeCorner never signs in for you.
    • Decided: when one payment hides several subscriptions, for example a charge from an app store, a screenshot of your subscription list shows which ones they are. You confirm with one tap, and the screenshot is deleted afterwards.
    • Decided: documents that already carry their data in a machine-readable form, such as e-invoices or the payment QR code on a paper bill, are read directly. AI only helps where that data is missing.
  10. Project start

    • The idea: one place that connects your family's bank accounts, contracts, documents and appointments and shows you every day what matters. We start with contracts and bank accounts.
    • Decided: you connect your bank through licensed open banking and sign in at your bank, not with us. Contracts are recognized from your bank transactions and documents, so you type nothing in.
    • Decided: AI proposes, you decide. Nothing happens without your approval, and anything AI-derived is marked.
    • Decided: your data stays in the EU, is never sold and never trains AI. Households are strictly separated, and automated tests check this before anything goes live.
    • Decided: every feature's security is reviewed before it is built.
    • Decided: made for your phone first, in English and German.
    • Decided: we start with families in Germany; Austria and Switzerland follow later. We will share every step on LinkedIn, on Instagram and in our own newsletter, and you will be able to join a waitlist.
    • Decided: no commissions. We take no commissions or referral fees from providers, insurers or comparison sites, so nobody can pay to be recommended.
    • Decided: no tracking on this website or in our emails. No cookies, no tracking pixels, no third-party scripts. If we count visits later, then only as totals.
